# Tempera > The operating system for client work — built for marketing and communications agencies, and the same governed workflow for independent consultants and in-house brand teams. Per-client AI behind a human review gate. Tempera is an agency-agnostic platform: each installation is branded to the agency running it, and every client gets a context-aware AI team — grounded in that client's own brand guidelines, approved/rejected work, and correspondence — inside the agency's Client → Brand → Campaign → Activity workflow. A human review gate stands before any AI output reaches a client. Sold agency-first, the same governed model serves independent consultants and freelancers (the Solo plan, with an honest sole-operator review gate) and in-house brand teams (a flat monthly plan; departments stand where clients stood). A workspace mode reweights the vocabulary and defaults per audience — the platform underneath, and the review gate, are the same. The platform runs hosted or self-hosted at the same price, with an offline (air-gapped) option. Working files live in storage the operator chooses — local disk, S3, Google Cloud Storage, Google Drive, SFTP, or FTPS — and storage or AI provider credentials can be overridden per client for residency requirements; the database stores references to files, never the files themselves. Client data is never used to train shared models. A companion mobile app (iOS and Android) carries the review gate — approvals, rejections, and the notes that train each client's agent — with home-screen widgets, offline browsing, and QR pairing; it is included on every paid plan, and the Free evaluation tier is web-only. - Home: https://usetempera.com/en ## Site map ### Platform - [Platform](https://usetempera.com/en/platform): How Tempera works: per-client agents grounded in each client's own context, a governed generation loop, and every deliverable from copy to media plans and storyboards. - [Media planning & AV](https://usetempera.com/en/platform/media-planning): Media planning with numbers integrity: the AI drafts the plan, it cannot invent a rate — sourced figures, live-formula workbooks, and two client gates from strategy deck to flighting plan. - [The mobile review app](https://usetempera.com/en/platform/mobile): The review gate in your pocket: approve or send back with notes, browse offline, pair by QR in seconds — on iOS and Android, with free seats for client reviewers. - [Self-hosting](https://usetempera.com/en/platform/self-hosting): Run Tempera on your own infrastructure at the same price as our cloud: modest prerequisites, one interactive setup command, three supported databases, and your files in storage you choose. - [Governance](https://usetempera.com/en/platform/governance): The controls that make AI safe for client work: a human review gate, capability-based access, encrypted keys, and client data that never leaves the operator's hands. ### Audiences - [Agencies](https://usetempera.com/en/for/agencies): Run every client, brand, campaign, and deliverable in one governed agency workspace, with isolated client context and a named human approval before work ships. - [Freelancers](https://usetempera.com/en/for/freelancers): The governed client work agencies run, sized to a desk of one: per-client context, drafted options, and a review step that keeps your judgement in the loop — from $24 per active client. - [In-house brand teams](https://usetempera.com/en/for/in-house): Your brand's campaigns in one governed loop: department-scoped context, drafted options, a named sign-off before anything ships, and a flat monthly plan for the whole team. - [Creators](https://usetempera.com/en/for/creators): Every series and sponsor in its own lane: drafts grounded in your own approved work, a recorded check before anything goes out, and real files — on the Solo plan. ### Comparisons - [Why not just a chatbot?](https://usetempera.com/en/vs/ai-chatbots): Why agencies outgrow ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for client work: no shared client memory, no data control, no workflow — and what a governed platform does instead. - [Beyond AI design tools](https://usetempera.com/en/vs/ai-design-tools): Canva, Midjourney, and AI design tools make beautiful one-offs. Agencies need on-brand, approved, editable deliverables inside a governed workflow — here's the difference. - [Tempera vs autonomous AI marketers](https://usetempera.com/en/vs/ai-marketers): Autonomous AI marketers replace the agency; Tempera arms it. An honest comparison — including what they do that we deliberately don't. ### Resources - [How a creative agency works](https://usetempera.com/en/resources/how-agencies-work): The agency operating model in plain language: what agencies sell, the client–brand–campaign–activity hierarchy, the three champions, how work flows, media planning's two gates, and where AI honestly helps. - [Agency & AI glossary](https://usetempera.com/en/resources/glossary): Plain definitions of agency and AI vocabulary: brief, flighting plan, maker/checker, review gate, concept territories, active client, AI slop, and more. - [FAQ](https://usetempera.com/en/resources/faq): Plain answers on what Tempera is, how the AI is governed, where data lives, what it costs, and how it runs — hosted or self-hosted. ### Buying - [Pricing](https://usetempera.com/en/pricing): A platform fee per active client, metered AI credits unless you bring your own keys, and a free tier to prove the workflow. ### Company - [Contact](https://usetempera.com/en/company/contact): How to reach Tempera: book a demo, start the 30-day Studio trial with no card, or write to us directly. ### Legal - [Privacy Policy](https://usetempera.com/en/legal/privacy): How Tempera collects, uses, and protects personal data across its web, mobile, and API services. - [Terms of Use](https://usetempera.com/en/legal/terms): The terms that govern use of the Tempera web, mobile, and API services. ## Full content - [llms-full.txt](https://usetempera.com/llms-full.txt): the complete answer-bearing product, audience, comparison, FAQ, contact, and guide content in one document; canonical legal documents remain linked at source.
